July 12th
---------
We do have news running and have setup a couple of groups to carry. If
there are any favorite newsgroups you would like us to carry, leave
feedback to root.

June 23rd
---------
We are now operational as 'tycho.com'. The rest of the world will have
to learn to adjust to this...

May 23rd

To All new users and users who have not yet been validated:
Please leave a message to root letting us know what is the best time to
reach you to do validation. We are getting a very large number of users
signing on and having to make multiple calls to each one to do validation
is creating a difficult situation. We may be moving to a mail validation
process for those users who are out of our local calling area due to the
EXTREMELY high long distance bills which we have been incurring. Thank
you for your assistance in this matter.

May 16th
--------
Bookmarks have been added to the setup system!

May 13th
--------
ALL USERS: The VU BBS Primary FTP Archive Site has been moved to
ftp.amaranth.com, under /pub/VUBBS. This site will be kept current with
this system, and already has all the latest files and newest modules.

Bookmarks have been added to VU BBS! Bookmarks allow you to create personal
menus from menu items within the menu shell, as well as favorite locations
in bookmark aware VU BBS applications. For example, a favorite directory
in the file transfer area can be 'bookmarked' into your personal menu.

May 8th
-------
We are now testing the VU BBS Multiparty Chatroom.

May 5th
-------
VU BBS Beta-2 update files have been released. The most current version is
update-b2a.tar.gz, which essentially combines update-b2.tar.gz and
update-fix2.tar.gz into a single download, as per request by the committe to
reduce redundency.

April 23rd
----------
Dos doors are coming! We are now testing support for emulated sessions to
run standard MS-DOS BBS doors! We have gotten global war to run so far,
and expect to run many door programs which support door.sys drop files.
Door support is being driven through dosemu on Linux. Dos Door access
is now available only on request while we test this new feature. You
may leave e-mail for root requesting door access. If you have a favorite
door you would like to see us run, let us know.

April 22nd
----------
We are asking all users to please check the information which they
provided at sign on to make sure that it is correct. We have street
addresses with no city, state, zip and phone numbers with no area code in
some cases. Also please be sure that your REAL name, address and phone
number are correct so that validation can be done as quickly as
possible. Please leave a message to root once you check your information
letting us know that the information is correct. Users who do not check,
update and contact us within 30 days (by May 22, 1995) will be deleted
from the system.

April 21st
----------
Alpha-1 of VU News reader now under initial testing. QWK support does not
work yet. You can alter news reader settings under user setup. Also, we
are testing a new utility to record daily usage.

April 19th
----------
Some key events; first, we have removed restrictions for guest downloading.
This was originally done only to test the ability to do so in the software
module!

Second, we are now running pre-beta-2 VU BBS for live testing. The major
changes to note are that you will not be notified of non-existant e-mail
and flash messages do now work.

We hope to have the news agent up this weekend.
