These are a couple of utilities that I found useful when using Alan GW4PTSs
kernel AX25 code. They are a modiied version of axattach that takes port
speed as a parameter, and a very much expanded version of listen that handles
ARP, IP, NET/ROM and the rest, and is based upon the trace code that is in
Wampes. I haven't bothered to check the trace code inside a pure version of
NOS but I expect that it isn't much different, having said that, some of the
code has been so well hacked that even the original author would be pushed to
recognise it.

I am not sure about the original copyright notice that accompanies NOS and
Wampes, I seem to remember something along the lines of free use by radio
amateurs for non-commercial purposes or similar. I found the Wampes
distribution to so chaotic and have inadequate documentation that finding out
such things is problematical.

The tracing code has not been too well tested but appears to be OK. I tested
it by running it against my Wampes system via a pseudo-TTY, unfortunately
this approach did not allow me to exercise the tracing code fully. Local IP
traffic is non existent so I am relying on bug reports from others. Since
the source code is provided I expect lots of patches via e-mail. I am quite
happy with the AX25 and NET/ROM tracing since they have been in use for some
time in the shack.

The supplied binaries are dynamically linked with libc 4.5.19. They will work
with AX25 0.12 and should work with AX25 0.10 and 0.11.

If you find a bug or, even better, supply a fix, then e-mail me via the
Internet or packet. Hopefully these programs may find there way into the main
distribution from Alan.
